This Edinburgh-born singer/songwriter’s intense, lyrical compositions blend aspects of indie rock and chamber pop it took me some time to get used to his vocal delivery but moment afterwards I began to receive his art. The album consist of 12 tracks including by far my favorite which is “Frontman” featuring Anna B. Savage. When Hawk and Savage’s voices interlock with the glistening strings in the middle, it might just be the most exquisite moment on the record. I love emotional songs, sorry. Metric Critics has given this album a ratings of 88%. Another single on the album of course is Angel Numbers which was the first time for me hearing about Hamish Hawk. Which gives an retro feel and was absolutely performed brilliantly. Musically, post-punk spikiness, is accompanied by Hammond organ flourishes, and a jazz fusion-styled guitar lead. So if you are looking for an artist with good lyrics accompanied with instruments that takes you back to the good ole days of good rock then look no further.
